guess what? i am not a robot.

jasklfj23hf23lknro23yrdWER@#$&@#(P$&!#4qjdejkrfhsdfewuhefwfweew.

Yes. Okay.. It's true. I've FAILED miserably. Blog failer= Kelsey. I know, I know.

But I've been busy okay? Ya know, going into creepy magic forests and conquering mystical demons with my sweet rapping skills. The usual. nbd.

In all honesty, I just don't know what to tell you guys about my life. And I've seen my blog start to dwindleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. When I started, I had a BILLION ideas of what I could blog about. Now that I can't remember all those blog posts options, I am lost. la-la-lost Kelsey Skousen

Where has my creativity gone?
Better yet, where has my funniness gone?
What is worthy of blogging?
What kind of feel do I want my blog to have?
What am I going to do about this?
Have I turned into a robot?

Absolutely.. NOT!
I just gotta find my groove again.
I got this.
I hope..

Sers guys, don't worry about it. I've got a plan.

ordinariphobia.

Someone pointed this out to me the other day and I didn't think it was true- I have a fear of some pretty ordinary things, but wouldn't think twice about doing something everyone else finds too scary.

Ex: I am TERRIFIED of cats. Ask anyone who knows me, I run for the hills when I see one!

BUT guess who saw a bobcat that was someone's pet. Isn't that illegal?? idiots. and practically ran out there to go meet and pet it. Check that off my list of things to do before I die. It was so cool!

GO FIGURE.

So apparently he was right. I'm scared of some of the most ordinary things.. let's call it ordinariphobia.

Uno mas. I've also realized that I fail at blogging, so this is MY promise to be better and blog more often. INSERT CHEERS AND SOME LOVELY "OOOOHs!". cause it's gonna be exciting.. or something??

joy kills sorrow.

You know how you go through life and learn lessons from all your experiences and simply become better? Well I've just realized one of the greatest lessons I'll ever learn..

joy kills sorrow.

So whether you are going through low or high times in life, remember what brings you joy. It truly kills sorrow.

teeth De wisdom.

Well folks, July 15th was the day.
I didn't eat anything after midnight.
I woke up early.

yada. yada. yada. yada. yada. yada. yada. yada. yada. yada. yada. yada. yada.
Before I knew it, I no longer had my wisdom teeth.

With silly slurs and the desire for EVERYONE to touch my chin, I was quite the hoot to be around.
I even pretended to have a seizure and pass out (kiddingly telling a story).
I cried when my sister got me yellow Powerade instead of Gatorade. I honestly bawled.
I ran into a Facebook friend and introduced myself.
I slept at a rehearsal.
Basically I talked and laughed more than usual. I know hard to believe.

With my experience, wisdom teeth weren't too painful or too much of a hassle. My main complaint? Not being able to eat.. normally.

For all of you that got to see me all loopy, I apologize! Thanks for all the love! I am so grateful for my friends and family.

Day 1: looking lovely..and stoned.
Day 2: Wee bit o' swelling.
 Day 3: "Hiii I'm Gopher!"

For all of you who in the future will undergo an operation, here are 20 things one can do while healing and loopy:

1. Pick a foreign accent and talk in it all day.
2. Make a Halloween costume out of your bedsheets.
3. Answer an ad on how to make BIG money at home.
4. Learn the Morse code.
5. Build a fort out of tissues and toilet paper rolls.
6. Practice to become the World's Fastest Remote Control User.
7. Name the 50 states: now try their capitals.
8. Become a ventriloquist.
9. Make a macaroni sculpture. favorite.
10. Try to sell your macaroni sculpture on eBay.
11. Teach yourself to levitate. unless you are like me and already know. duh.
12. Say the alphabet backward.
13. Practice exotic bird calls.
14. See how long you can go without blinking.
15. Gargle the "Star-Spangled Banner."
16. Plan how you'd spend the money if you won a lottery.
17. Make puppets out of empty pill bottles.
18. Call a talk show and say you're a space alien. See if anyone notices.
19. Draw happy faces on your toes.
20. Concentrate on feeling better soon! Cheesy and stupid. obviously.

and no, I am not creative enough to come up with these by myself.
I credit it to a get well card duh.
I also want to do a bunch of this stuff regardless. oh how the immature part of me yearns to come out.

I bid you adieu.

getting lost in Africa,
line dancing,
going to the movies,
eating 7 too many hotdogs,
spending lots of time with the family,
learning absolutely nothing in 2 museums,
more driving,
playing a game of "say a work, pose, take a picture."
eating at my favorite restaurant(s),
singing. for my own personal fun

a whole lot more eating,
22 mosquito bites,
getting really sick the night before and day we left,
lots of gatorade and coke later,
2 more planes and then..

I’M HOME!

You might be reading some of that and thinking “Kelsey you are a liar, how could you have sailed with pirates or gotten lost in Africa?” But, I am a completely honest woman. You bet your bottom dollar that all of those things happened!
So where did I go to do all these crazy things? Africa! Just teasing, no I was in Chicago, IL for 2 very long and draining, with many ups and downs, ready to be home, sad to say goodbye to family I might not see for a while weeks!  Ask me if I want to go back right away?? I must admit... I am a little Chicagoed out, but overall it was a very nice and much needed trip. I am going to miss all my family but home has never been sweeter!

So here it is folks- CHICAGO 101 in no particular order. duh.

Shopping on Michigan Avenue twice.
Taste of Chicago: Think of the Freedom Festival, but all there is there is food, and it's some of the best food in chicago. I alone ate: a pulled pork sandwich, "real" rainbow ice cream (not as good as they talked it up to be), shrimp, pizzas, and frozen chocolate covered cheesecake (divine). Do I regret eating that much? Nope! WAIT. Yeah nope.
Navy Pier: We went sailing on a "pirate" ship. Guess who felt a little let down? Yeah that would me. I was hoping for maybe some cannons, beer, pirate lingo and all. Instead I got some pointless light house stories and some random FULL out singing (You know the kind where you aren't sure if it is serious and when you find out it is, you can't help but laugh? Yeah my mom was right there with me!) Okay I admit.. It was still pretty sweet. We also went to Bubba Gumps: cajun shrimp, bread pudding, keylime pie and lemonade DELISH!  We also went to Build-A-Bear with with the twins, ate at this yummy mexican place and watched fireworks over the water.
Went to the movies eh eh.
Went to the Museum of Natural History. Out of all the museums in Chicago, we went to the Field Museum aka the most boring one.  But of course it became more fun when we picked out animals that resembled all of us, sang "when I was a young WARTTTT HOOOOOOOGGG!!!" when we saw the wart hogs, got lost in Africa, walked like an egyptian in Egypt, and saw real Michael Jordan bball shoes. Oh and the best part was my mom turned everything into a "that's what she said joke" and I was the only one lucky enough to hear it all! Take that museum of natural blah blah blah.
Went to the Art Institute.. kill me know. I don't even want to explain it. Okay I admit, it was really cool but I do not enjoy looking at EVERY. SINGLE. THING. All you need to do is walk past it and appreciate it.
We saw some more beautiful fireworks!
We had a lot of BBQs/parties with the most amazing homemade food including:  homemade mac and cheese , greens, ribs, bbq chicken, spaghetti, hot links, potato salad, baked beans, watermelon, corn on the cob, pulled pork, peach cobbler and ice cream. Can you say BQQers heaven on earth?
We also ate at White Castle (hamburger sliders fast food, not that good), Grande Luxe, Maxwell's Hotdogs we had way too many of these, some yummy yummy tacos, other homemade food like: enchiladas, lasagna, nachos, yummy breakfasts etc etc.

Chicago, you will be missed. Sleep well.

p.s. shout out to my biggie sister Adern for turning her 21st year! I also get my wisdom teeth out tomorrow morning. Gonna be a hoot.. or something.

MORE PICTURES TO COME.
